Lunar eclipse

When the moon moves in its own orbit, it forms the eclipse when the Earth enters its shadow. When the moon enters the shadow of the Earth, it becomes unable to receive the light from the Sun. Lunar eclipse often occurs twice a year. In eclipse, the Earth intervenes between the Sun and the Moon, preventing the Moon from receiving the Sun's lights. In this case, the shadow of the Earth falls on the Moon surface. 3 has different types of lunar eclipses: semi-shaded lunar eclipses, full lunar eclipses and partial lunar eclipses. The shape of the eclipses determines the position of the Earth between the Moon and the Sun.

 What is Lunar Eclipse?

The natural phenomenon that occurs as a result of the Earth entering between the Moon and the Sun is called the Moon eclipse. Lunar eclipse is a natural phenomenon that occurs during the full moon phase or when the Moon is close to the nodes. If the sun is at the opposite node, the lunar eclipse occurs. In this case, the shadow of the Earth falls on the Moon and the lunar eclipse occurs. The month is moving 3456 km per hour. The Earth's shadow cone falling on the Moon extends 1 360 000 km and this cone is wider than 8800 km from the lunar distance. Because of the moon's hourly movements and shadow cone length and position, the lunar eclipse takes between 40 minutes and 60 minutes.
Lunar eclipse; semi-shaded lunar eclipses, partial lunar eclipses and full lunar eclipses. In eclipse, the Moon passes half of the Earth's shadow cone. This lunar eclipse is a month that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Semi-shaded lunar eclipse is the most rare form of lunar eclipse.
Partial lunar eclipse; It occurs when part of the Moon passes completely through the shadow cone of the Earth and is visible to the naked eye.
If the full lunar eclipse, the Moon turns red. The reason for the Moon taking this color in full eclipse is that the sunlight reflected from the shaded Moon passes through the atmosphere while only red lights can pass due to atmospheric conditions.
The difference between eclipse and solar eclipse is this; In the eclipse, the Moon enters between the Sun and the Earth, preventing the sun from reaching the Earth and the shadow of the Moon is reflected on the Earth. In the lunar eclipse, the Earth enters between the Sun and the Moon, preventing the Moon from receiving the Sun's lights and brightness, and the shadow of the Earth is reflected on the Moon.

Causes Eclipse?

While the Moon makes its orbital movements around the Earth, the Earth makes its orbital movements around the Sun and Moon. During these orbital movements of the Moon and Earth, the faces facing the Sun become bright. The dark faces of the Moon and Earth that are not facing the Sun create shadow cone behind them. A lunar eclipse also occurs when the Moon enters the Earth's shadow cone.
The Moon completes its return around the Earth in 27,7 days. The Moon enters the Earth's shadow cone after this orbital movement around the Earth. In this case, the Moon eclipse occurs. For the lunar eclipse to occur, the Moon's phase must be a full moon. Another requirement for lunar eclipse to occur is that the Earth, Sun and Moon are aligned. In no case where the Earth, the Sun and the Moon are aligned, neither the eclipse nor the eclipse occurs. The orbital movements, velocities and mass sizes of Earth and Moon are the determinants of the shape and time of lunar eclipse.

Moon Eclipse How?

Eclipse is a natural phenomenon that occurs as a result of the Earth entering between the Sun and the Moon. The moon enters the shadow of the Earth and loses the light from the Sun. In this case, the moon's eclipse, the shadow of the Earth falls to the Moon. As a result of the lunar and Earth's orbit movements, the lunar eclipse occurs once a year. The lunar eclipse can be traced from any point where the Moon is on the horizon. Although lunar eclipse is twice a year, in rare cases it is observed that there are no lunar eclipses, as is the 2 lunar eclipses per year.
The lunar eclipse takes longer than the eclipse. The eclipse can last up to 1 hours, while the eclipse ends in minutes. The reason for this is quite simple. The mass of the Earth is overshadowed by a larger area because it is larger than the mass of the Moon. In this case, when the Moon's rotation speed is also added, the lunar eclipse takes between 40 and 60 minutes.
