It is often confused with torque power, which is generally close to each other but does not mean the same thing. It can also be used in terms of the load that the vehicle can pull.



History of Horsepower


As mentioned just before, horsepower is a term that has survived centuries ago. First of all, we can say that it is a term that Scottish man James Watt, an engineer and physicist, introduced into the literature. Towards the end of the 1700s, it was a concept that James Watt, who worked on the power of steam engines and engines, also took into account the conditions of the period. As expected, horses were preferred frequently due to the conditions of the period. Watt decided to base the power of the horses as a result of observation and for this, he based on the power of the horses and simple systems with wheels from movement.
