1) KEOPS PYRAMID (BC 2560 - CAIRO / EGYPT)

It was created by bringing together thirty-ton tons of stones. How such heavy stones could be lifted at that time is a matter of debate and curiosity today. ZEUS STATUE (BC 3 - OLYMPIA / GREECE)
This structure was built by Phidias, one of the important sculptors of his period. Gold and ivory were used in the construction of the statue. The width of the statue is seven meters high and twelve meters high. The remains of the work, which was once located in Istanbul, were transported to Paris as a result of the fire, and is currently exhibited in a museum in Paris.

It was made in the name of Zeus in the Olympics. The statue itself has disappeared, but an excavation was carried out in 1958 to identify the workshop used in the construction of the statue. This excavation work contributed to the understanding of the creation process of the statue and enabled it to be reconstructed. No feature revealing the original lines of the statue could be found for a long time.

With later discoveries, certain features of the statue could be identified. Information about the Zeus Statue was obtained with the help of the pictures and reliefs on the coins of the period.

4) RODOS STATUE (BC 282 - RODOS / GREECE)
The Statue of Rhodes was built during the Greek Kingdom. It is located at the entrance of Rhodes Island and symbolizes power and nobility. As a result of excavations and research, it was determined that the legs of the statue were on the piers.

Its height is estimated at approximately thirty-two meters. The material used in the sculpture is bronze. It was made by the famous sculptor Khales. As a result of an earthquake that occurred approximately around 250 BC, the Colossus of Rhodes was completely destroyed and only its ruins were accessible from the island of Rhodes.

The ruins are exhibited in the museum on Rhodes Island. The construction of the Colossus of Rhodes continued for 12 years and began in B.C. It was completed in 282. During the Colossus of Rhodes period, it was used to show sailors the land.

5) ALEXANDRIA LIGHTHOUSE (BC 290 - ALEXANDRIA / EGYPT)
The Lighthouse of Alexandria is one of the seven wonders of the world and is located in Egypt. Although it is the tallest among the lighthouses built in history, unfortunately its ruins are under water today. B.C. It was built between 246-285 and its construction took nearly forty years. The Lighthouse of Alexandria is one hundred and thirty-five meters high and consists of three parts.

There is a mirror at the top of the lantern, which is made entirely of white marble, and this mirror is made of bronze. In this way, the mirror could be seen even from seventy meters away and guided ships entering and exiting the harbour. It is the only work among the wonders of the world that could have been used in the Ancient Age. It was built on Pharos Island. Additionally, there is a statue of Poseidon, the god of the seas, at the top of the building.

6) Mausoleum of Halicarnassus (BC. 350 - Bodrum / TURKEY)

Mausoleum at Halicarnassusis considered as one of the seven wonders of the world. The Halicarnassus Mausoleum, which is a monumental tomb, was built using Greek and Egyptian architecture together. The work is located in the place called Halicarnassus in that period, which is today's Bodrum. Today, the mausoleum area is used as an open air museum. It looks like a basement house.

7) ARTEMIS TEMPLE (BC. 550 - Ephesus / TURKEY)
The Temple of Artemis, also known as the Temple of Diana, is located in the Ancient City of Ephesus in Izmir. It is one of the world's seven wonders. There are different opinions about the construction of the temple. All information about the temple is obtained from what the historian Plynus tells.

He said that the temple was 115 meters long and 55 meters wide and was made almost entirely of marble. There are many works of art in the temple. It is said in historical sources that sculptors competed to make the most beautiful statue.

Since the temple is in an economically and geographically important place, it is frequently visited by tourists. It was burned by a person named Herostratus, who wanted to spread the name to the world. Parts of the temple were smuggled abroad. Today, there is no Temple of Artemis, only one column remains.
