Uber dem Meer die bunte
Cloud
Darauf das silberne schiff
Darinnen der yellow Fisch
In der Tiefe blauer Tang
An der Küste ein nackter Mann
Der steht da und überlegt
Soll ich die Wolke sein?
Oder das Schiff?
Oder der Fisch?
Oder villeicht der Tang?
Weder noch!
Das Meer mustst du sein,
Mein Sohn!
Mythseiner Wolke,
Myth Seinem Schiff,
Myth Seinem Fisch,
Mit seinem tang
Ala cloud over the sea
Silver ship on your face
Yellow fish inside
Blue moss at the bottom
A naked man on the shore
Stopped thinking
Should I be the cloud?
Or is it a ship?
Should I be a fish?
Or is it algae?
Neither that, what that, what that
It must be a sea,
son!
With its cloud,
By his ship,
With fish,
With moss

Nazim Hikmet, September 24, 1945
Here's what we see:
As long as it doesn't happen...
The following Kind:
This is not the case.
Unsere schönsten Tage:
es sind die noch nicht gelebten.
Allerschönste Wort was ich Dir
sagen wollte:
es ist das noch nicht ausgesprochene
Wort…
The most beautiful sea:
It is the one that has not yet been visited…
The most beautiful boy:
it has not grown yet.
Our best days:
we haven't lived yet.
And the best I want to tell you
promise:
is the word I haven't said yet
